Montain Karang

One of the active volcano in West Java is the Mount Reef, located in Pandeglang, about 20 km south of the town of Serang. There was no history of eruptions that can be found, but archaeological data enter this mountain into a group that has the potential stratovolkano mountain erupted.
It has a peak height 1.778m asl, better known as mountain pilgrimage tour. In certain months, usually months Maulid (Rabiul Start), the number of visitors jumped sharply. They were mostly pilgrims who want religious visit to the ruins Tb Jaya Mercury, elders Banten Kingdom which is situated in the village of Kaduengang.
Seeing Mount Reef, lying quietly in Pandeglang, not excessive if we referred to him as a giant who was sleeping quietly, with a variety of potential hidden within. Not only because of the potential as active volcano eruptions, but also tourism potential still untapped optimally.
- Tourism Potential
Since the establishment of Banten province, local governments promote tourism promotion. And, of Mount Reef became one tourist attraction that is expected to attract tourists with its potential for spiritual tourism.
Previously, Banten tourism relies on the tourist area of the Sultan of Banten spiritual heritage, located in Old Banten, Serang. There, tourists usually visit Surosowan Castle, Great Mosque, Ancient Pagoda, and the family mausoleum complex of Sultan Hasanuddin.
Is the right thing if the local government's campaign to promote Mount Reef as a prestigious tourist area, because this mountain has a variety of objects visits. Three main object is to tour Mount Reef Well Seven, Cikoromoi pool, and hot spring Cisolong.
- Stone Quran
Of the three objects excursions Mount Reef, the most interesting tourists are swimming pool Cikoromoi. The appeal of this pool is a big rock at the bottom of the pool that has carved Arabic, and is estimated to have more than 500 years. Some people believe that by bathing in it will be able to cure various diseases.
Stone Quran which is only about two feet wide and flanked by several springs were believed to be a relic Ki Mansour, King Banten relatives who became scholars. Ki Mansour very proficient in the science of agriculture, and versed in the art that maketh though the media spread the religion of Islam.
- Climbing Path
To reach the summit of Mount Reef, is known two-point climb. The first path is called path Kadeungang. By taking this route, it takes about 4-5 hours to reach the summit of Mount Reef.
The second path is the path or Ciekek Paging Watu. This path is more sloping than Kadeungang path, but requires a longer travel time, which is about seven hours. Therefore, Watu paging channels are not so popular among the climbers.
In line Kadeungang, there are ruins Tb Jaya Mercury. Before you continue the climb, usually the tourists took a pilgrimage here. It was only after that go to the Post Ascent 2 which takes about an hour.
On the way to post Ascent 2, tourists can enjoy views of the Sunda Strait and a vague look of Mount Krakatoa's child.
Before reaching the Ascent Pos 3, previously passed Forest Vegetation Boundaries. After Ascent Pos 3, will be found crossing; left into Well of the Seven, and right onto Curug Jackfruit. By continuing journey following the path to the left, arrived at the Well of the Seven, at the summit of Mount Reef.
